Sézane Federica Jumper Review

Sézane is a brand that I’ve surprisingly not gotten very many ads for on Instagram, but have definitely seen a lot of buzz about on social media. I’m always a bit slow on the come up, if I’m honest. Once a brand has really started to build a reputation for themselves, I start to get a little more interested. There have been a few brands over the years that have been a little overhyped, in my opinion, but Sézane really doesn’t seem like one of them.

The French brand was established in 2013 by Morgane Sézalory with the goal of offering everyone “luxury quality at a fair & accessible price.” Which, I mean, I am totally here for. It’s also a Certified B Corporation, which means that it’s doing good things to aid in social and environmental impact (read more about what Certified B Corp means).

Fashion is for everybody, regardless of size. I know that. You know that. Sometimes I think that brands forget that, so let’s do a deep dive into Sézane! This review will cover only tops, but I plan to do a full review on some of the different style of pants in the future. Here are my measurements, for reference:

  • Bust: 34G (UK) / 34I (US)
  • Size: 10, 12
  • Measurements: 40-32-41.5 (Bust-Waist-Hips)
  • Shoe Size: 8 (Wide), 8.5 (If wide is not available)

Knitwear & Oversized Disclaimer: For most knitwear and oversized clothing, I purchase an M instead of an L. I have a short torso, so I’ve found that despite my larger bust, an M typically works on me when it comes to clothing that’s meant to be oversized. Since I’m also considered petite (5’3” or under), I’ve found that when I purchase an L, the sleeves are almost always way too long but most M’s fit my arm length perfectly.

About the Federica Jumper

Purchase Details:

Okay, so if you’re really into itchy sweaters that look really nice, this is the one for you. This is, without a doubt, a gorgeous jumper. The embellishments on the jumper seem to be put on quite well and they are only on the front and the sleeves, so it’ll be less of a hassle to store. The neck hole of the jumper does not stretch, so if you’ve got a big head like me and wear glasses, you’ll want to remember to take them off first before you try to squeeze your head into it. The sleeves are gorgeous in the way that they balloon out, but not so much so that it makes me look like a clown when I’m wearing it. I would definitely say that it’s flattering and helps to balance out the bulk of my bust.

The jumper itself is made of 40% Polyamide, 32% Kid mohair, 28% Merino Wool — so it’s itchy. It’s also a lot fuzzier than it looked like in the pictures, which may rub off on some of your other clothes. The color is a true powder pink, and it’s absolutely gorgeous! The way that the Federica is designed also means that it’s a bit see-through, so most folks will have to wear a shirt beneath it. My bust in any sweater is very prominent and pushes against the material so I can’t just wear a bralette underneath, I will always need a shirt with anything see-through. I’m wearing my Uniqlo button-down underneath, which is one of my most comfortable shirts to wear anyway.

This jumper works well for me, but it doesn’t really seem like something for everybody. It’s quite itchy and the boat neck might not be flattering for everyone if you wear it alone. It’s a bit see-through and if you wear a lot of dark colors, you might not like this hanging out in your closet next to them because it’ll definitely leave pink fibers all over.

All in all, it is a product that I would recommend if you do not have sensitive skin. It works very well on my busty, petite frame and it has a very beautiful design. It stands out due to the beaded embellishments and it is very lightweight, so it’s great for layering and might be something nice to have for cool spring weather as well!

Size Recommendation

If you are a similar size to me, I would recommend purchasing the Sézane Federica Jumper in the M size for a regular fit.
